The Berlin meeting showed a boost in activities for the ICN. At the moment there are about 10 projects which are already in the pipeline for development and implementation, where ICN is playing a role. The funds are from different sources, from national programs, Erasmus+, Interreg, EEA grants, Nordic funds etc.
The network is moving in a direction of more focus on the social sphere, including social entrepreneurship and health related issues. Training of skills is still a high priority. Previously the network was very focused on towns and city planning, infrastructure and more. This is still on the menu. However, some new members have entered the network with a range of initiatives related to the social sphere.
One of these new members is the InnovED institution from Greece, which also brings the network towards the Mediterranean Sea region. It´s not the only institution that ICN is reaching out to in the southern parts of Europe. New partners from France, Italy, Romania and Turkey are interested in cooperation with the ICN, and we are looking into new options for cooperation, even outside the Europe. This a new approach, as the ICN mainly have been focusing at the Northern Europe. By opening up for new partners and countries the network will probably become a larger player. The continuation will follow, and don´t forget to follow us on Facebook:
